Fans of MOTOGP will be seeing the badass motorcyclist, Andrea Iannone donning an HJC helmet for MOTOGP 2018 and 2019. Despite gaining a name of “Maniac Joe” for his wild but cool unpredictable style on the track, Iannone had quite charmed HJC Helmets. An HJC Helmets representative was quoted as saying, “HJC only sees raw talent and a hunger to win. Fans just do not know what Iannone is willing to do when he is on a MotoGP track and that is what brings excitement to the sport.”
The helmet company is eager to have their premium helmet model tested on the MOTOGP track by the Italian racer. Iannone will be racing with the RPHA 11 Pro helmet whose design is customized for high speed racing at a professional level. The graphics on his helmet will vary for the different races he will be participating in for 2018 and 2019. A helmet similar to what he will be wearing while racing at more than 200 mph speed will not be available to the public. However, exact replica of the graphics will be offered with #29 on it.
“Maniac Joe” is just as excited to be part of HJC’s sponsored racers. “HJC has a tradition of quality and race performance helmets. With their multiple MotoGP title sponsorships and the large portfolio of racers around the world, HJC is the brand of choice in MotoGP. I am glad to be one of their top ambassadors and I look forward to a long-term commitment to the brand.”
Iannone, while representing Ducati Team in 2015 and 2016, was seen on the MOTOGP podium for a couple of times. He started riding with Factory Team SUZUKI ECSTAR in 2017. So he will be riding on a Suzuki for the second time around for 2018. With more experience on his bike, HJC Helmets can bet he’ll be on the podium for more number of times. Iannone will be joining among HJC’s supported racers no less than 2017 MotoAmericaSuperSport Champion Garrett Gerloff, 2017 MotoAmericaSuperBike Champion Toni Elias, 2015 World Champion Danny Kent, and MotoGP riders Mika Kallio and Jonas Folger and Brand Ambassador Ben Spies. With one less worry on his head, “Maniac Joe” can surely go full throttle for the new MOTOGP season.
